IE and Mozilla: reload problems because of caching
Often, while developing pages, the browser shows old versions of the files after reloading the whole site or window. No Equiv and no Header configuration will help. The best way to avoid this problem is to turn off your browser caching completely and set the cache size to zero or to a minimum.
IE and Mozilla: SSL contents in some windows
If you load content over https, Netscape shows the security symbol in the bottom bar and IE does not. The IE behaviour is correct, because the entire site does not come over https. So if you really need to load https contents into a WinLIKE window, try to right click the content and look at the properties of the page. There you will find the exact information about the status of the content. Please also note the limitations of external contents in windows!
IE at WinXP SP2 has restricted the webpage from running scripts
Most probably you opened a WinLIKE HTML page directly from your file system. If you load the files via a Web server (http) instead you won't receive this security warning anymore.
Mozilla 0.9 / NN6: WinLIKE does not work from file system
Because of a bug in old versions of Mozilla, windows cannot be opened if you start WinLIKE from a file system, only over http.
Mozilla 0.9 / NN6 Unix versions: no z-Index for windows
There is another bug in those old versions - you cannot change the overlapping order of windows under Unix.
Mozilla 0.9 / NN6 Unix versions
If you resize a window, sometimes the resizing lines are only visible over other windows and not over the body page.
Mozilla: ALT clicks should open links in a new window
WinLIKE supports the ALT key for links to open content in a new WinLIKE window. This does not work under Unix and not as good under NN7 because a file dialog appears.
Mozilla: the browser history
Every simple action of WinLIKE produces a history entry in Mozilla. That is a little irritating but not changeable (for us).
Mozilla: Link-dragging to the desktop
Dragging a link (e.g. a Deeplink, a drag-and-save link or a normal link) to your desktop does not work in some older Mozilla versions. But dragging a link into the bookmarks bar works perfectly. Therefore you have to click this bookmark link and afterwards you have to delete it.
IE: Font-Resize Bug
If you change the font size in IE over the browser menu, the content of a window will not be rendered instantly but only after resizing or reloading the window.
IE changes skin pictures
Whilst caching, IE sometimes exchanges skin pictures. The result is that the skins look wrong afterwards. If this happens, the easiest workaround is to simply change the file names of the pictures and adapt the wm-window.html of each skin accordingly.
Scrollbars at Mozilla on OSX
When using the standard Mozilla skin under Mac OSX and the Aqua surface Darwin, WinLIKE windows are not overlapping Aqua scrollbars. To avoid the problem just use another Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape skin.
